The Paris Agreement is set to save the world from climate change – and now someone wants you to create a 30-second video with your phone to let the world know what that means for you.

The request comes from Christiana Figueres, the UN’s climate chief, and she asks you use the hashtag #Means4Me.

Back in December almost all countries of the world met in Paris. The resulting COP21 Paris Agreement was a landmark achievement and will help countries cut down their greenhouse gas emissions.

30-Second Video

Don’t worry if you don’t have any fancy professional film equipment, you can simply use a phone, tablet or desktop device and record away. If you don’t have access to anything that can film then you could even upload a photo that represents what it means for you.

To give you some inspiration for your video the UN has provided some questions:

  • How concerned are you about climate change?
  • What are your hopes and aspirations for a better future now that we have the Paris Agreement?
  • How do you think your country, city, firm or organization can contribute?
  • What are you personally ready to do now to make the Paris Agreement work?

Once you’re done with your message post it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram (or all three) and remember to use the hashtags #Means4Me and #ParisAgreement. Bare in mind if you’re using Instagram you’re limited to 15 seconds.

The UN is sharing its favourites via social media so keep an eye out for yours by following the UNFCCC on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
